What kind of warm -up exercises you do before your martial art class?

  1. Lots of stretching. I take Wu Ying Tao (the formless way) and as is the same for most martial arts all your power is going to come from your pelvic, ab, and leg muscles. So we do butterfly's, leg stretches, hurdler stretches, etc. -Red
  2. In my TKD class my instructor asks everyone to do 60 Jumoing jacks 30 push-ups 50 crunches Then we stretch
  3. run around the room stretch and maybe some push ups
  4. run around chasing our tails for 30 mins. 15 level Dan Wolf Style Kung Fu
  5. stretching, jumping rope, push-ups, sit-ups, squats, medicine ball work
  6. at least 20 minutes of warm up- either running or soccer, followed by 10 minutes of stretching, then basic movements.. stretches have to be deep stretches though - like splits, butterflies or backbends to really see results.
  7. 40 jumping jacks, sit up, push up (10 reg.10 on knuckles, 10 on fingertip, --i can't do either type) butterflys, strecthes
