Math Problem With A Scale Or Drawing?

The Warren's backyard is a 50 ft by 50 ft square. They have attached an 8 foot chain to a back corner fence post to tie up their dog. How much of an exercise does the dog have? I don't get it? Can somebody help me and tell me what to do? NOT THE ANSWER JUST WHAT TO DO THANKS!

  1. I think it's their way of asking; how much area can the dog travel in the yard tied as it is. I'm assuming the dog is limited to the edges of the lawn too. Does this help???
  2. It's asking What is the size and shape of the area the dog can reach?
  3. The size of the yard is not required, however it does indicate that the dog can only move on his 8 ft chain (which acts as a radius ) for only a quarter of a circle (perimeter) within the yard. Try Pi x D divided by 4
