Drawing Exercises

Where do you draw the line on body modifications?

What kind of body modifications are ethically acceptable, and which are not? If having surgery performed on a child born with a cleft palate is acceptable to improve his appearance, is it also acceptable to have a circumcision performed for purely aesthetic (not religious) reasons? Is it ok to have a nose job if your nose has been broken and it's impairing your ability to breathe? How about a nose job for a 16 year old who thinks her nose is too big? And what about liposuction? Is liposuction an intelligent option for the severely overweight? How about for someone who exercises and watches their diet but can't get rid of those love handles or thunder thighs? Is it going too far to have a breast lift after carrying and breastfeeding three children? Is it going too far to have a breast augmentation to look hotter? How about getting DDD's to make money as a stripper? Are botox injections advisable for an actress? How about for a soccer Mom? Where would you draw the line, and why?

  1. why bother you are dying anyway why spending money on crap
  2. when u look like a barbie doll all shiny and plastic...aka Pamela Anderson
  3. your details were to long for me to read but i think i get the jist of it..but I'd say everywhere..unless its needed for you to be comfortable like a breast reduction..big breast can affect your back...
  4. I draw the line at penis reductions !
  5. So far I draw the line with laser hair removal (which I haven't done) for myself and I have considered doing Lasik but I have concerns about doing it with my current level of prescription eye wear. I am not too into tatoos.
  6. anything that makes a person feel better about themselves isnt going to far, but if ur gonna look like michael jackson in the end then ur pushing it
  7. I think if you can afford to have some sort of augmintation to improve your appearance or to correct a birth defect then this is ok. If a soccer mom wants bigger breast then go at it. If you want whiter teeth then go at it.. the thing is if you are not happy with your appearance then, thru medical technolgy you can change it. Does this make it wrong or right? Is it biblically wrong? I think this is between you and God...... What about transgender reconstruction----I think I would have to stop there. I am proud to be who I am. (Man)
  8. I don't think people should have plastic surgery for fashion or fad. Body mutilation (piercings, tattoos, etc.) when not done for religious/tribal/cultural reasons look ridiculous in my opinion. Ears pierced for fashion, o.k. but not 18 rings in your ear and ear lobe stretching, it really looks dumb. Plastic surgery was started after WW1 when men who were shot in the face had gaping holes in their faces or their face was physically blown off and distorted. It was created to give them an appearance that was at least somewhat human. Today, you have people changing their appearance for vanity's sake. Personally, I think that you can do only so much to yourself naturally (eating right, exercise) to keep in shape. There are so many complications with cosmetic surgery and some of them can never be repaired. I would never have cosmetic surgery unless I was disfigured from an accident. You have to be satisfied with what you have. It's all you've got. You cannot take it with you, you leave it behind when you die. The body is only a container for the soul. You cannot confuse what you look like on the outside with what you're made of on the inside. If you cannot love yourself the way you are, who will?
