How to get camera above paper in drawing videos?

Ok, so I've seen those drawing videos on Youtube where somone draws something or someone, and they speed it up, so it looks really cool. I want to do that, and I know how to speed it up and everything, but there's one thing. I can't figure out how I could get the camera above the paper. i mean I could hold it, but it would be much mroe difficult to draw. can someone help me?

1. Not sure about the size you're thinking about, but how about setting up a mirror above the work at an angle and then just aiming the camera at the right angle to make it appear as though it is overhead.
