1. im doing this at the top of my head so im sorry if i dont get alot, im reading this book for a school book, just finished it yesterday, 1.badlands..... uhm... i belive Mr.Birkway and Mrs.Cadaver's mother is Mrs.Partridge the three significant events are 1. when she learns her mother is dead, the singing tree in bybanks kentucky do not sing. 2. in the hospital parking lot, the trees sing, when gram is released i belive. and 3. the trees sang at her mothers grave in lewingston the trees are supossed to represent her feelings, like when she is sad, the trees dont sing, and when she is happy, they sing. thus, her middle name IS "tree" Sal, Tree Hiddle
