what are the best pencils, drawing paper and erasers for drawing fantasy art?
Although I suppose the question would apply to any type or art.

- What? Perspective man, perspective. What I like is not necessarily what you will ultimately like. Go to my deviant page below to see what I use when working in graphite. Let’s see... if I can find a back answer.... Hello; I use mechanical pencils and lead holders. It seems that since I have moved over to these I don't use up any lead... except maybe in the .05 mechanical pencils with 4b lead. I will post up below so you can see what I work with when drawing in lead (lead = graphite). Well, I got tired of using wood pencils because of all the sharpening and wood shavings. I use Staedtler Lead Holders and leads because the pencils come with an integral sharpener in the pencil cap, so when I go out to draw I don't need to take the bulky blue sharpener with me. The Lead Holders If you buy their leads they have a colored replacement cap you can put on the lead holder so you know what lead is in the pencil. The only traditional pencil I use is the #2 HB since you can buy a bunch for pennies, but I don't use the HB so much. In the .05 mech pencils I have 4H, 2B, and 4B leads. I like these for fine work so I don't have to keep sharpening the lead on the lead holders. Staedtler lead holder cost about $6, and the pack of 12 leads cost $10. The .05 mech pencils $5-12 with the packs of 12 leads under $1. I was hesitant to purchase some many to hold the different leads, but I am glad I did. My drawing get done so much faster as I don't have to do much sharpening and reloading of leads. But you didn't ask about colored pencils... or did you? Paper. Wow... smooths Bristol if you can afford it, copy paper if you can't. What can you do? This kind of questions lends to a naivety in art. You must find what works best for you. Soft leads work good for sketches.... man what can you do? Hehehehe. Wow. Kneaded eraser. Whatever. Can you even draw? I could suggest that which you cannot afford. I can suggest if you are a beginner. Ink and color with pencil? Pure color pencil? Back and white? Heck, charcoal can be used. Incorporation of water color, anybody? What can you do now?
- proper art pencils of course! you can buy them at hobby lobby for quite cheap. a basic set is 4H 2H 4B and 2B. good erasers can be anything that basically works for you. a rubber kneaded eraser works fine 4 me. computer paper works good for rough sketches, but also at hobby lobby you can buy medium grade paper. it works awesome for detailed sketches.
