What's a good size of drawing paper to work on to be scanned in for a blog header?

I want to draw something on paper and then scan it in to the computer. Once I scan it in I want to make it into a header for my blog. How large should my paper I physically draw on (in inches) be so that it will be proportional for a header when I go to scan it in to the computer?
