Drawing Tutorials or Advice? I'm interested in drawing, but the problem is that every time I sketch out a character (ex: Sonic the Hedgehog, Naruto, etc) my drawings lack emotion, or a good structure. I can't draw poses, and when I try drawing separate pics. they all have the same character looking differently. Can somebody give me some advice or a good website? Also, I'm mainly focusing on making my style cartoonish and anime-ish, but what I'm rlly looking for is some advice on anime styles and the separate style of Sonic. I know, I'm a Sonic fan!

I draw pencil sketches and scan them into Photoshop - what magical things can I do to them? In particular I have a pencil sketch of a face that's half in shadow. I want to Photoshop this to get rid of the rough pencil lines and smudges and make it into a clean cut picture that looks as though it was drawn on a PC. Is there a feature in Photoshop that would do this for me, or am I going to have to painstakingly draw over each line in Photoshop? Plus - with the shadow, is it really necessary that I draw that first? Or could I just draw the face and have Photoshop draw a shadow over it? If so, how? Can anyone talk me through it or link me to some good tutorials? Thank you!
Drawing tutorial? Does anyone know any site preferably more than one that offers free lessons for a beginner to the advance in drawing, shading and sketching. Thanks in advance
What program is best for drawing up Floor Plans? Hey everyone, I'm looking into programs to start playing around with floor plans and architecture stuff in preparation for the future of course/VCE where I will need to use programs to draw floor plans and what not. What program do you think is best for me to start learning in and best in the long run? AutoCAD? Adobe Illustrator? Google Sketch Up? What you think? Also if anyone has tutorials on how to do so, that would be great. Thanks Jaime
Ideas for sketching, drawing and doodling? (please read details)? I'm still not that great at drawing, and I know that practicing will help me improve, so if you have any links to online tutorials, that would be good too. Mainly, though, I'm looking for links and your ideas on what I can practice drawing. I enjoy doing fantasy, (dragons, castles, faeries, etc) but keep in mind I've got a long way to go improving my sketching. So, links are awesome, much appreciated, but ideas if you got 'em!! :-D Thnx!
How to draw Anime on the Computer? I want to get started drawing Anime. I have been looking at tutorials on Youtube, But they don't explain the drawing of the outline(rough sketch) Do you know any tutorial(easy) on drawing Anime(On the Computer) for beginners? Thanks.
how to animate sketches from manga? i googled this stuff up, but all i find are tutorials for flash based animation and that too with crappy drawings (made on-screen and are crappy cuz drawing with a mouse never gives good results). the remedy for these seem to be special drawing boards for manga artists. the thing is i am not good at drawing in any manner, but i been wondering that since there are already manga and images/sketches out there.....can't i straightway animate them somehow? (skipping on the sketching part myself)
Are there any step by step tutorials on how to draw Ryuk from Death Note? I just want to learn how to sketch him not color him in or anything.

Photoshop Painting Tutorials? I live in Puerto Rico, and sadly, I cannot find any photoshop classes, anywhere. I love the program, and I am an aspiring artist. I want to take advantage of the many rendering and painting features available, but I have no idea how to use them. If anybody can help me find links to online photoshop tutorials involving skin, eyes, hair, human anatomy, and/or clothing, I would be very grateful. I manage to draw/sketch my own works and upload them into the computer, but from there on out, I am lost. I am desperate to learn, and I have done hours and hours of "adventuring" and amateur art with the program. Thanks for taking the time to read through this post. P.S.: I have no preference to versions. CS2/3/4, any is fine.
How do you use Photoshop to color Drawings? Yeah i'm an all out artist in drawing stuff and various of video game things onto a piece of paper. Lately when i scan pictures i usually color them in paint which takes a very long time. I've rescently came across photoshop and i have NO CLUE how to use it. How do i use photoshop to color a drawing or sketch that i've made. If not then does any one know where theres a tutorial in shading, colors, highlights, and basics in coloring an image or drawing somewhere on the net?. Much thanks appreciated.
Materials Required for Drawing (Sounds stupid but please read)? Hey, Ive recently applied for a place at an art college, and they have asked me to bring along a portfolio of my work and i have decided to work mainly on pencil portraits and still life drawings. Although i've been drawing portraits i only have the basic materials 2b-9b pencils and a putty rubber and sketch pad, however i want to make my drawings really stand out above the rest, and was wondering if anyone could suggest some things that could make my items better, such as better erasers for highlights, mechanical pencils, different types of pencils sketching materials and things such as tollingers (not sure if ive pronounced that right but it is an item that is used for shading). s well as this i was also wondering if anyone could provide me with any drawing tips etc or websites with drawing tips and tutorials to help refine my technique etc. Thanks for all of the help. PS. please dont say that all i need is those pencils and the pad and if i have any talent then it should shine through because that's not what im asking, sorry if this sounds rude its just i got that response on an art site and it sort of didn't help at all lol. PS. i want to do just pencil sketches (grey) not coloured pencils or anything.

How should I go about learning animation....? Animation Colleges? I am 14 and have wanted to be a animator since I was 7. I practice my drawing/animation skills almost every day for hours. I sketch, look up tutorials, read about other animators, make animated gif, play around on 3d programs and such. I was wondering if there is anything else I should be doing to maximize my learning and prepare me for when I am older. Also what would be a good animation college to look into?
How can I make a .svg file that functions as a sketchpad? So, I want to make a .svg file that, when loaded in a browser acts like a fully functional sketch pad (with drawing board, pen, pencil, eraser, color-switching, color-filling etc.). Any ideas / Tutorials(links) etc? Thank you.
How can I get better at drawing? I'm 18 and I'm going to be a Senior in High School and this will be my last year at my School. I'm taking a Art Class my Senior year just because my Teacher wants me to be in it because of my art work and I would like to know if anyone knows any tutorial sites and how to draw sites if possible, Books would be good too. I want to be able to draw people, animals, cartoon characters, buildings, and anime characters. I have a good drawing hand and I draw with my right hand but it's just hard to draw something new and I'm tired of not being able to draw the images I see in my head and I'm tired of drawing the same things all the time. I know how to sketch too and I'm just looking for some books or tutorials on how to draw cartoons and anime and other stuff. I just don't know how to draw the details of the stuff I want to draw. And I'm looking for a good book that will help me out or a site. I would be really appreciated for the help. Sorry if no one understands my question, I'm just wanting to get good at drawing.
How do i draw anime animals? i've seen quite alot of drawings on deviantART.com of a manga type style of combining animals with humans. I have no idea how to do it, are there any sites that provide tutorials for sketches? Thanks
How teachable is drawing or painting really? There are many many books, courses, and tutorials but how many people do they help? I learned more about painting from Bob Ross's show than my college painting courses. I ventured into drawing figures by tracing a comic book character over and over until I could freehand the character. Then using the experience and techniques from various other how to draw sources I draw fairly decent figures in addition to what I could draw before. I can fairly say that the majority of my learning is self gathered with very little "educational" input. How much can we really be taught to improve ourselves or get the end result we desire in our work. Especially in a society which seems to applaud "artists" knocking paint cans off ladders onto canvas or minimalized sketches that barely resemble subjects so that the responsabitiy of content is left to the viewer?
Help with figure drawing!!?? I can draw well form photos, still life etc, but i feel need to be able to draw out of my head, which when drawing the body i find really hard! I can now draw front, side and back views of male/female figures at 8 heads high. I just started to turn the whole body so it is looking to the right, and my brain has just stopped working again! Here are the normal stance of person, then the trned stanc ewhich iv got problems with. http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll227/masterofthepencil/DSCF2774.jpg http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll227/masterofthepencil/DSCF2775.jpg Please ignore the faces and quickness of sketches, as they were done very quickly. :) If anyone knows how i cando this it would be great, or any tutorials?
Does anybody who considers themselves an artist at drawing canines have any tips for drawing wolves? I am not a beginner or new to drawing wolves, or dogs. But I have been seeking some helpful tips. I have been studying images and even my own dog for the figure and poses. But somehow I feel like something is wrong in my sketches, like the furry-ness, or the size of specific parts and limbs. Anybody willing to give some tips? Anything (That is not rude or obvious)? PS: I have been drawing (Or attempting to) wolves for a long time. And I have already viewed and tried the many tutorials online and offline (books). Links to tips or tutorials are welcome. EDIT: To everyone: I am not going for cartoon or "anime" style. And just so you know, what I meant by "furry-ness" is how big/ poofy the fur looks on a regular adult-sized wolf using artistic pencils (AKA, not No.2 or Mecha-pencils). EDIT 2: I would love to pot a few of my RECENT sketches, but unfortunately I no longer have access to a scanner. Urk, I meant, I would love to SHOW you my RECENT sketches. (How did the word "pot" come to mind, I wonder). Edit AGAIN: Been there. I've seen all the wolf artists on deviantART, good and bad. So linking there is not help. Plus, how does it show me how to improve myself or anyone for that fact? I am looking for SERIOUS answers from SERIOUS people only. Please.
How do I draw a cylinder 6 units in diameter sticking out from the SIDE of an 8-unit isometric cube? The cylinder must stick out from the right side of the isometric cube. Cube is 8 units (obviously in length, width, and height) and the length of the cylinder can be any size, just as long as the diameter is 6 units long. I am sketching this on isometric graph paper. If anyone could explain to me how to draw this or show me a tutorial on that type of sketch, it would be appreciated. My design teacher assigned this for homework but he did not explain it well. Thanx!
Adobe photoshop drawing anime? I have a pen tablet and adobe photoshop cs3, and I would like to create anime on it directly by using the pen tablet. I usually sketch my drawings first and then trace over it (On paper.) But i can't find out how to do that on adobe photoshop with the pen tablet or I couldn't find any tutorials on it. Does anyone know a website or tutorial about it?
How can i get my pencil drawing of a cartoon to look properly in the computer? I sketch the drawing and i scan it in the computer. However, when i try to trace the drawing using photoshop, it is very tedious with the mouse? And the lines doesn't always come out smooth. How do you artists do i so that it look more professional? Any tips? Ideas? How do you get the shading with corel? What tools do i use? Is there an online tutorial to show me how to do it properly? Thanks. I have the corel suite but which programs am i suppose to use within it? I only end up using corel paint shop but if i am using the wrong software, which one should i be using?
How do I draw in Illustrator? I want to become a graphic designer, but I can't sketch. Is there a way that I can create drawings in Illustrator from nothing, without sketching it first, then scanning it? Is there any tutorials on how to draw in Illustrator (not what tool does what, but how to use the tools to create graphics without sketching)?
outlining in photoshop help? I enjoy drawing sketches and I was wondering how to digitally ink in photoshop, basically tracing it to get a smooth black outline for a more cartoony look. to be honest I'm not that great with photoshop. I was looking for tutorials on how to do this but none seemed to fully explain everything, I know it usually involves the pen tool (and btw I don't have one of those tablets I mean just using the mouse)can anyone help ?

Need Draw/sketching help? Hi there, I'm about to create a mod using the source engine. I'm sitting here and trying to draw some sketches, and it is realistic not comic. The problem is that i can't draw realistic humans, people say that I am good at drawing, but that's comic drawings. Another problem is that i just draw the heads, almost all my drawings are "body less". Every time I'm trying to draw bodies, i fail. I have it in my head and I'm just concentrating, but i fail. Usually it ends with a deformed body part, or too large leg/arm and so on. I'm in a hurry, i can't go on a lesson. If i don't update the mod it will be marked as "Dead". What can i do to improve this. I am good at drawing heads, why shouldn't i be good at draw bodies. And its would be a plus if you could send me a video tutorial that is easy to follow. Many thanks from Sweden, Jack
How do I improve drawing anime/manga faster? I don't exactly need a tutorial 'cos I know how to draw it already and I think I'm starting to develop my own style. Thing is, I was always drawing small since I was little. Anyways I do constantly practice day by day, whether it's a doodle, or a big drawing I make on a sketch pad, but I've also been wondering how others my age seem to improve faster. There are probably times I don't draw 'cos it isn't my only hobby but isn't that true for all? Anyways, my proportions and anatomy sucks bad XD Anime is supposed to be realistic and I know that it's not all that right with proportion but the experts of course studied that first >< Oh, and I am also having a hard time with the hands and feet as well as folds in clothes (unless I'm overestimating the way people do folds of their clothes and that I'm actually doing enough of it, just, not 'correctly'.) I guess different poses and angles are also what I need to improve on, and basically, I still need to know how to express a drawing in that it's in its own 3D environment that is expressed at 2D. That one's hard eh? Perhaps to be good at drawing anime, I should look at other forms and styles of art and maybe learn something from all those different types and perspectives? Any resources you might like to share would be very much appreciated ^___^ Thanks! I always tried to draw anime from memory, and never do I copy for practice (laziness, actually..), which I assume a lot of people seem to do. But I don't want to do that -.-
How to Sketch a Background? I'm Horrible at drawing backgrounds for any of my sketches. I was wondering if you knew of a good tutorial online, in a book, or just advice in general. Thanks if you can :D
I want to draw portraits...how should I start? I love art and I want to start drawing portraits of poeple in pencil. I can sort of draw random eyes and mouths but when it comes to sketching from real faces the faces I draw are nothing like the person. And I can't draw noses. At all. So if you could give me links to websites and videos (love videos =)) where there are step by step tutorials or helpful advice....even if you've got some advise it would be good. Thanks! =)
Original Drawing? I love to draw. My art isnt that good, though- unless I have a subject to draw, something to look off of. Even then, its usually just a sketch. Does anyone know of any tutorial, or book (anime, chibi, cartoon-ish) that can help me draw better; original art, out of my head, not a copy of someone else's. Thanks[=
How to draw anime figures? How can you draw anime body figures? I've been practicing my drawing recently but I think I'm not getting any where. I'm trying to find books but I dont know what's a good book for beginners. I have a good drawing hand but I don't know how to draw body figures. I've also checked mangatutorials.com and howtodrawmanga.com but their tutorials are kinda hard. I would appreciate if anyone can help me out. I like to draw. And I can sketch good. I just dont know how to draw the detail.
Drawing straight onto a wacom? I got a wacom tablet recently (Intuos 9x12) and am having trouble with the learning curve. I've always drawn pen on paper and figured that drawing straight into photoshop (CS3) would a lot easier in terms of getting art done without having to filter through a bunch of mediums. My question is: I was watching Nickelodeon (ask me why and I won't have a good answer for you) and I saw an artists drawing straight into Photoshop using a wacom and the lines came out smoothly, however sloppily considering it was a sixty second sketch, and there was no constant zooming and line retouching necessary. I'd like to be able to do lineart more precisely and I'm finding that the learning curve is a lot steeper and more frustrating than previously suspected. Is there anywhere on this vast, vast internets that I can find a strong tutorial for a beginner in digital art? Perhaps explain how to adjust the settings of the pen and tablet, of Photoshop, and how to go about doing art more efficiently. I'm working on a MacBook Pro, 1.5g RAM, 120g memory, entry level components. There's very little painting lag if any at all. My most simple issue right now is that in PS3, the painting reticle is nonexistent if the size of the brush is too small or too big. I'd like to see the circle like in older versions of PS when I paint, no matter the size of the brush. Otherwise everything isn't so much an issue as a learning curve. The method I've worked out now is to draw what I want on a smaller canvas to get a general sketch, enlarge the canvas by two or three times and go back over the lines with clearer ones to get a final sketch down, then to refine them and resize. I would just like a more official tutorial or video instructional that offers more official, tried methods. I'd like to be sure that what I'm doing is A) right and B) the best way to go about it. Thanks again.
threadless.com t-shirt designs? I have some great ideas for t-shirt designs that i would love to submit to threadless.com but they are all hand drawn. I do not have experience with all the graphic and digital art stuff and i think that is what everyone uses to submit.I have a scanner and gimp. Is there any tutorials or can anyone help me transform my hand draw sketches to colorful digital art using gimp??
What to think about when designing a world map for a game? I'm very bad at drawing so I probably only could make a sketch at best. I'd like to have a original world map (not used by a other game). This map I will use in all games I make. So is there any good tutorial/guide somewhere, what things should I tink about when I design the map? Or else all maps would just be in basics a big round or square island in the ocean, right?
"Guide" lines when drawing freehand? I notice when looking at rough sketches of line work, many times the picture is littered with faint curved lines that have nothing to do with the outline of the content. I'm thinking they are there to help judge perspective and proportions while sketching the outline, but I don't know they're official name or use. Could someone help guide me to a tutorial on what these things are, and how to use them? Right now, I just jump right in and meticulously draw out the outline, using a lot of erasing as I go every time the proportions get a little off...but I think having "guide" lines will help things go much faster. I just don't know how to use them. Any tips you have yourself as experienced sketch artists will be appreciated as well.
What type of ink pen should i use for lineart? i draw anime quite abit, and untill now ive always used a black colored pencil for linearts. but recently, i read a tutorial that said something about inking the sketch to turn it into line art,and i dont know if i just use a regular black pen or something special..(money isnt really a problem) suggestions?
General Artist's Question [answers ASAP, & 10 pts. best answer]? Okay, so, I have a few theories on art in general i'd like answered. Quick and helpful answers will get the points as well as much thanks. - I'm in the seventh grade, meaning I'm only thirteen. :/ I'm fairly talented with a pencil (or so i'm told ;o but, hey, give me a paintbrush and.. yeah XD), and when I look around there's not many people in the seventh grade who can draw/sketch decently. I'm not putting anyone down, or bragging or whatever, but I'm just wondering why there are very little people in middle school who actually umm, how should I put this, /care/ about art, and can actually draw for their lives. Maybe it's an age group thing, or whatever. Just curious. - Anddddd, I've been looking for some good colored pencil tutorials lately. Linkage would be much appreciated. - Like I said before, I cannot paint.. or use pastels.. or mold clay for my life. Although drawing comes easily to me. The only thing I /really/ care about in my Art class is the sketchbook parts. Because of this I nearly failed my last class. Is there any way I can, err, get more 'focused' on the rest? Whew. Now that I'm done, lemme say .. HAVESUMFUNANSERINKWEZTUNZ.
how to color a picture on gimp? I want to color my sketch on gimp, I tried to see the tutorial, but I can't understand. I heard people can color on a drawing without erasing the original lines, please tell me how, thanks
What are good art tutorial web sites? Ok I love to draw and i was wondering what are some art web sites that have a realistic art tutorials. Where can I learn to draw like this? http://img2.imageshack.us/img2/6241/rsxdrawing3.jpg Check out that car, I have a set of drawing pencils, what is a good site with tutorials that will start me up on how to sketch like that, like give me tips on how to outline, then start the concept, add details and bold lines, and then shades and lighntning? Thank yous in advances
Best Way To Draw Manga? I can draw other sketches like people objects, animals, but like realistic. Now I wanna draw cartoon. More like MANGA. Not nasty manga like bakugan and draagon ball z but like the manga that comes in manga books like these.. http://www.r-galaxy.com/store/images/Aishiteruze_Baby-3.jpeg http://www.r-galaxy.com/store/images/Aishiteruze_Baby-3.jpeg etc. etc. So can you help? I can also deal with online STEP-BY-STEP tutorials. But EFFECTIVE ones please. Thanks for your answers!
how do u color a sketch in gimp? i tried the tutorial on http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/Coloring_A_BW_Sketch/ but its unclear its kinda vague on the details would someone be able to give me a better tutorial ones on youtube suck they all fast forward their tutorial extra details: this is a sketch that i drew on paper then scanned it onto my computer. then i put the drawing on gimp also is there a way like in photoshop you can clean up the sketches so it'll make the lines look clean and it'll almost look like it was drawn on the computer
Fashion Illustration: How to use markers? I need to develop a fashion portfolio and have never colored with markers and literally need the simplest step-by-step instructions. I have a 24 set of Prismacolor markers and 60 Prismacolor colored pencils. I have tons of sketches and literally just need to learn how to color them. I've tried looking for tutorials and have been unsuccessful. If you know of a really good (basic and then more advanced) tutorial on fashion drawing with markers that would be awesome, or else just personal experience or pictures. I'm not in school so I can't ask anyone. I'm teaching myself and am really frustrated :) I'm using Bienfang marker paper as well. So a step-by-step from whether you use the literal marker on your sketch or use a colorless blender, how to use a colorless blender, how to incorporate colored pencils, white gel pen etc., if you outline the figure/with what/how etc. I literally have no experience and won't be offended by the simplest steps at the beginning, followed by more advanced advice. I learn quickly, I just don't know where to start. One particular issue I found was that I want a lilac colored dress for example, and I don't have a light purple marker. My set just comes with a rich violet. I'm not sure if I use the colorless blender to dull the color, or if I need to spend another $80 on more markers. Thanks so much for your time. lilyj
Seeking Digital sketch in photoshop? Hello. I can't draw/paint/sketch to save my life, however, I would love to have a photo of me sketched. I googled around and found several tutorials that showed you how to sketch a photo. I've tried them all and NONE of them even look semi close to a realistic sketch. I would like someone to make a sketch of me. I will pay. I'm thinking 10 bucks or maybe 15 depending on how realistic the sketch looks. If it were possible, I'd rather just have a real sketch. I guess I'm hiring someone to make a sketch of me digitally or on paper. Also, if done by paper, I'd like to have the original sketch shipped to me. I've used google. If you read what I said..I've used several tutorials and none have worked!
Q (preferably girls should answer this) :The strange girl who stares me in my law class....? Hi all of you, here is my situation, i just moved to New Zealand and have been going to college, there is this girl in my law class who have been staring me, last time she sat close to me in tutorials but i didn't talked to her cause i was not too sure. Then i saw her drawing my sketch on papers while in class. I am a foreigner here so don't know much about here, but its kind of intriguing me and i may have feeling for her. But i can't make the first approach unless i know for sure. So folks, DO you think that she likes me or is just flirting with me? Girls, what do you think??
Where can I learn digital painting? Most of the sources I find for digital art is anime style simple coloring, glazing color over a traditional sketch, or an overview of the process (rough in sketch/basic coloring/etc.). I need to know in depth how to blend colors together smoothly essentially how to actually "paint" in photoshop instead of coloring over a drawing. DVD's/Books/Websites/ect. (prefer video tutorial with sound)
drawing tablet + photoshop brushes and technique question? i just recently bought an intous tablet and was wondering how people ink so perfectly and if in the construction which is more important, the sketch or the inking (like which has biggest effect to like details later) because i see some videos where people sketch really well and just trace in dark black and others where they have a really nappy sketch and turn it into a amazing piece of art. but really i would like to know the most effective way to ink well. Also what settings and type of brush do use to sketch. ive been using a 5px brush with jitter opacity and size i think set to pen pressure, THANKS also any tutorial links would be appreciated 1)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsbQKHTslTQ&feature=related 2)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcYASZMxqnI

Is it ok to copy from pictures? I want to draw people with different poses. But the thing is, I'm not good at it. I saw some tutorials wherein you have to sketch some stick positions to get the right pose and well, I suck at that. All I could do is copy poses from pictures and it's frustrating to find the pose that you want in the net. So anyway, does that make me less of an artist? The copying thing I mean. Although I am only copying the pose. T~T
Starting watercolor please help????????????????????? Hi, i know that to paint in watercolor requires a set of tools and all that. Somebody please tell me what kinds of tools must i have to start watercolor? E.g. what kind of paint? Paint used only for watercolor? What kind of brush should i use? Can i use any normal kinds of brush that i like or must there be specifics? What kind of paper should i use? Is it advisable i use the normal kind of paper in drawing blocks? Or like those in sketch books sold in bookshops? What's the difference if i use a normal sketch pad rather than those paper specially used for watercolor? If i use pencil to draw a rough sketch before coloring, would the pencil marks remain after coloring? Please do not give me specific websites/tutorials thank you very much. How do most watercolor artists draw? As in, do they create the entire picture in their mind, or is it possible if they took a picture of a scene on the street and then "replicate" the picture using watercolor? Can i do that? Something like still life with watercolor?
how to i colour in a scanned (hand drawn) picture on adobe illustrator? I have just bought adobe illustrator cs3 and know virtually nothing: the reason i bought this programme is because i draw cartoon sketches quite and it was suggested to me that it might be better to add colour on adobe rather than by hand this making the colouring sharper and in vector (!?) format... i was wondering if anyone could give me a basic run-though on how to colour the picture? or a link to a website where i can get a tutorial? i have scanned in the doodle i am wanting to use, and have opened it in adobe illustrator but that's as far as i get... thanks, xx
How do I add a background to my colored art in Photoshop? Hi, I'm new to Photoshop and I recently learned to clean up the lineart and add colors so that it doesn't effect the lines. I have a character I drew and I colored it in one layer and I wanna know if there is a way to make a background so I dont have to color around the character. (There are only two layers, the lineart and the colors layer) But I don't know how to layer each color on the lineart. I find tutorials for this hard to follow. Perhaps I need a better one? All and any help is greatly appreciated! If I'm not making any sense E-mail me or AIM me: TheWarriorGal. PLEASE! HELP! ME! Heres a picture of my situation. Try not to laugh at the girl... It was just a quick sketch to experiment with. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c10/jessychan/NewBitmapImage.jpg

How to draw a hand on the Computer? I am following the tutorial at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TyjS0i8ANU But when it gets to the part about sketching, Erasing the red only, Going over with the line tool, And erasing the green only, I am lost, Specifically, I need to draw a hand that is sideways, As it will be holding some cards. If you know of a tutorial to draw a hand on the computer like this one, Or can help me with this one, I would really appreciate it. The programs i use are Inkscape and GIMP. Thanks:) Also, Would this tut be easier using a Tablet? Edit:"But when it gets to the part about sketching, Erasing the red only, Going over with the line tool, And erasing the green only, I am lost, I don't know how to do that with Inkscape or GIMP":
How to draw? Manga, or just fan pictures, that are created by normal fans, would use Photoshop. But before they use ALL THAT, they would sketch. Do they sketch using normal pencil or pen, or sketch using the MS Paint? Also, what website that has EVERY SINGLE tutorial for Photoshop?
Looking for a flash web design tutorial to help with creating an online photo gallery.? I'm looking to design a photo gallery website within Flash, but most of the tutorials i can find online give flashy but impractical advice. How to make rotating menus or buttons that whiz around, none of which is useful for me. I'm good enough at coding and design to follow and adapt a guide, but not good enough to code it from scratch. There's a sketch I've drawn here laying out what I want the different page elements to be and what I want them to do here: http://www.crazybadger.tsohost.co.uk/flash/gallery-design.jpg And for examples of similar sites you could check out the gallery of Edward Almas here: http://www.erikalmas.com/ (pretty similar to what I'm aiming for) or Jill Greenberg here: http://www.manipulator.com/ (smooth and stylish, though a little too complex when it comes to working out how the site actually works. :oP) I want sidebars that will hide unobtrusively when not in use, a none-looping contents bar that is scrolled manually, (Pulled by a slider by the site's user, not autoscrolling constantly.) and for a large preview of the image clicked within the contents bar to display in the center of the screen. It's not too much to ask for, so why are the majority of tutorials online 10 times more complicated and only about 1/5th as good-looking? I want my own site and style, rather than a gallery at deviantart / flickr / or any other photo hosting site. Advice on how best to do this using flash or CSS would be very welcome. Thanks! Please don't just spam me with links with no context.
What do you think of this? I've had a sudden interest in Manga and so decided to look at tutorial videos and one guy reccommended GIMP (I can't remember what it means). I googled that and downloaded it for free. It's much like Paint. but way better and drew this drawing on the computer. This is the very first time I've drawn Manga (besides a few sketches) - what do you think? (Maybe even rate from 1-10) http://www.flickr.com/photos/32441036@N06/3073423469/
What is a CAD program and how do I get one? OK, I am trying to build my awesome dream house on Sketch up. I watched one of tutorials and I saw that he brought a sketch of what he did from a CAD program into Sketch Up and then made the house based on the drawing from the CAD program. Here the first video on the page shows it.- http://sketchup.google.com/training/videos/expert_to_gsu.html If you know where to find one I need one that is free. Thank you!
Coloring Manga/Anime in photoshop or illustrator (any version)? I have finally figured out how to draw anime/manga but I don't know how to turn my sketches into digital pictures. Could anyone point me to a website or book that will take me through a tutorial on how to use photoshop or illustrator to do this.
This picture was drawn how? Tablet or pencil? I was looking at a tutorial on how to paint in photoshop, but concerning the picture they started out with I'd like to know if they used a tablet for the base drawing or started out with a pencil sketch and then did something with the tablet to make it look like it does in the black and white stage. Random Drawing Idea Websites? Alrighty, I'm trying to expand the things i know how to draw. anyone know of any good sites for ideas, tutorials (sketching preffered over free hand), or random website generators. (like stumbleupon, only i have safari not firefox or ie) So any suggestions where i can find any mass resources for drawings? Step by steps? I just need resources. btw i like realistic drawing a lot as well. thanks! i already have a deviant art but thanks, it is a great website!
Want to start sketching? But i have never really drawn too much before, im not all that good, but decent enough for doodles and such, but im looking to do much more serious things than that, I guess i would like to start out small like just objects or anime characters so something of the like, does anyone know of some good tutorials or just some tips for me?
Adesso Tablet - Is it worth it? For Christmas, my brother bought me a drawing tablet, because he knows I spend countless hours drawing. He thought it'd be nice to get me a tablet so I could enhance my artwork and not just leave it to crappy sketches and drawings colored with colored pencils. The tablet's an Adesso, and was around $150. The thing is, I'm only thirteen and a half, and I can't really see the point to it. The computer it's hooked up to is the one my brother is always on (and when I mean always, I don't mean -oh, about every other day, then I can get on it-. I mean, he's on it almost from the moment we get home from school 'till dinner) Another thing is I only have Paint.NET, no Photoshop or any of those coolness programs. I've tried having a picture under the clear screen of the tablet and I'd tried tracing it on paint, so I don't have to, like, scan the pic. It failed terribly; the picture continuously moved around. (Should I have taped it down or something?) Can someone please explain to me the main purpose of a tablet? A tutorial on different ways to use it would be nice. And maybe recommend a good art program to go with it? I honestly don't think it was worth the money! ~A Thirteen Year Old Artist In Need Of Help Many Thanks :)
Manga/Photoshop help.? I am trying to make my own manga series using my own sketches and photoshop. Here is as far as I go...I sketch the page including all of its panels characters, but not the dialogue because I want to do that in Photoshop. Then I go to Photoshop, then choose import through my scanner to put in the picture at 600p. Then when it is in photoshop I am totally lost...I try to adjust the contrast/brightness, but it wont keep it that way. I don't sketch on the entire paper when I import the picture so I need to minimize the picture as the whole frame. And most importantlly, I can't find out how to put in bubble boxes for the dialogue! So short summary of my questions is how do I keep the contrast/brightness adjustment not from reseting everytime I use it, how can I minimize the page I drew inside the actually paper I drew to fit the whole frame(Get rid of blank outside of page), and how do I insert bubble boxes for dialogue?! Please do not send me a photoshop tutorial unless it helps manga pg
Trouble with PS7 BG Layer...? I recently came across a tutorial on DeviantArt on how to do locked line-art layers for anime styled drawing and coloring, which had worked fantastically for me on the first picture I had done. There was a second picture in which I sketched right onto the computer using a tablet in blue color then created a line-art layer for the final line art. My problem came up when I had to do several more layers simply for the border [I was using the shapes tool to create straight lines on the border and wound up with over 1,000 layers because each line created a new layer]. I erased the blue background sketch and then-- like a moron-- flattened all the layers together so I would have the line art and border all together as one...which ultimately got rid of my nice, clean, white background making the line art my background layer. [and then I saved it, on instinct, not thinking that this may be a bad idea..]. So my question is, does anybody know how to create a NEW background layer that is white and that I can put underneath the line art which has accidentally become my actual background? I've tried to move it to a blank background on a new file and that worked until I went to do my base-color layer underneath the locked line art layer-- my colors won't show up unless it is above the layer and then, when I do fine-tuning on the coloring around the edges, my line art gets covered up. :/ Any way I can avoid this without having to do the line art all over?? [I have Photoshop 7 and Elements 2.0 as well as Illustrator, though I prefer to use PS for my pictures]
How can I properly draw a molecule on ChemSketch 10.0? I tried doing it like the tutorial says it should be done, but I keep getting an error which says "Exception EPrinter in module CHEMSK.EXE at 000416B7. Printer selected is not valid." This is really annoying because, although I can sketch a molecule, I can't see what I'm sketching and I have to keep selecting the indivual atoms to have an idea of what I'm doing. This error also prevents me from changing the color of the background. What can I do?
