Drawing on tracing paper: need your ideas and suggestions? For my next drawing project I was asked to create a booklet made out of 50 tracing paper sheets. Starting from the from end and working through the whole booklet, I must draw something on each sheet that would be part of the next drawing on the following sheet and so on. Hence the use of tracing paper. I need some ideas and suggestions for creative themes.
Where to buy 1 large sheet of paper? I need one sheet of quality drawing paper about 4 feet wide. I've looked on the net, but most places do not sale single sheets. Or do they? Do most sizable art and crafts stores carry large sheets of paper for sale? Do you know of any specific places?
Question about size of paper when drawing object? I wanted to ask you that if I am using a sheet of paper that is 8.6' by 11' sheet of graph paper and I wanted to draw 100 by 120 foot rectangle using an architectural scale, will I be able to fit on the paper using one the scales on the architectural scale. Can you please help me with this task.
How do you build a really tall tower out of paper? We only have 2 sheets of drawing paper and 18 inches of tape. We're allowed to do anything we want to the paper but we can't add any other materials to this project. This is a project for school and only the tallest tower gets an 100. >:O please submit any ideas! thanks~! i think the drawing paper is the size of printer paper, the teacher didn't tell us yet...
Cheap colored paper for drawing on? I want to draw on colored and gray-scale paper with charcoal and pastel. However, all the paper I see is sold by the sheet at more than $1 for a sheet of 18 X 24! Strathmore had some pads of colored paper, but the price was far too high. Canson Colorline Art Papers are a little cheaper, but appear to be more for rough crafts and less for drawing on. Can anyone recommend some colored drawing paper, possibly in the form of a spiral drawing pad, that is cost-effective for someone who wants to experiment with drawing on color? Colors I'm most interested include muted earth tones, demure blues, and gray scale.
My HP 6L draws multiple sheets of paper instead of one.? I have an HP 6L. My wife bought it cheap. It works fine except that it likes to pull all of the sheets of paper through instead of just one at a time. Is there an easy and cheap fix for this that doesn't require buying a special tool or kit?
Where do I find large wall sized sheets of paper? I want to draw up large murals so I need large pieces of paper as big as a small sized wall like my bedroom wall which is large but small. I do know about butcher paper but, I need paper larger than that. Do you know where I could find large sheets of paper?
Best Way To Mount Drawing On Paper to Board? I drew a fictional map and it ended up being on 4 pieces of the standard 8x11 computer printer paper. By 4 pieces I mean 2 sheets of paper on the bottom and two on the top forming a square. The actual drawing is in blue ink. I want to mat these drawings together on (I was thinking) a mat board. What is the best way to stick them on the board so it looks nice? I don't want any glue lumps crinkling the paper since the pictures are on printer paper. I was thinking rubber cement. I hope this is clear and appreciate any help.
I have a beautiful little sister who is great at drawing and painting....? ...I have a Prism image projector, an item which... projects an image onto a canvas or a sheet of drawing paper, and I wonder if it something which will improve her drawing in some way, or a useless item which can even hamper somehow her development as an artist? I would imagine these things are used to trace the lines, I think? If anyone knowledgeable can comment, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
Can I get "big paper" for drawing and crafts at Lowes? My 4-year old really likes to draw and is asking for "big paper". We have some errands to run at Lowes, anyway, and I'm wondering if you think they might have something like that and what department I should look in. I prefer individual, poster-sized sheets, but if a roll is the only way to go, I'll get that too... So... does Lowes usually carry paper suitable for drawing with markers & crayons? Thanks! I'm not asking where else I should go, but where at Lowes (large home improvement store) might I be able to find it. I have some merchandise credit from lowes already and need to go there for other stuff too. Just trying to be efficient. I don't want to drag my kid around to multiple stores if I don't have to.
Drawing lines on paper for school projects? Ok, this might sound like a stupid question, but hear me out. I get a whole bunch of projects to do for school every year, and since the presentation has to be really good, I usually use handmade paper for these projects. For each page, I have to draw lines in pencil so that my writing doesn't slant, and then erase them out later... This takes a long time and is very annoying when the projects are more than 20 pages long.. Is there a quicker method for this? The paper I use is too thick to put a ruled sheet underneath and write...
help, i am taking a drawing class and i dont know what? Artist tape for my assignment is used for. instructions : use artist tape to use for top and bottom of 18X24 drawing paper. the assignment wants us to use jumbo charcoal and compressed charcoal on each sheet of paper which involves shading that i understand from each light color to dark, but i am still having problems understanding why there is tape on the top and bottom? is that just to help keep down where you are drawing?
What sweet thing can I write in a sheet of paper (with a drawing) to a woman I love? I know she doesnt like me at all but just to like her at least a little bit cos I still really like her even though she has a new bf. and I'm nothing to her. Or should I not give her any drawing at all and completely erase her from my life? I'm finding it really hard cos I know she would only say thanks, and then go away and break my heart. But, at the same time, I would make her a bit happy. or maybe she'd think I'm obsessed or something. Please, I need help. If yes, what can I write her?
In the RISD drawing portfolio? The RISD drawing portfolio requires one project to "utilize both sides of the sheet of drawing paper." Does anybody know what this means?
Drawing Requirements for Rhode Island School of Design? Okay, so I've looked at the 3 drawing requirements for RISD recently and they've changed it from before. They still have the bicycle drawing, but instead of the interior/exterior setting and a piece of your choice, they now require a two-sided piece and one of an altered piece of paper...? RISD's description on their website is a little confusing to me: "The first drawing must represent a bicycle; the second drawing may be of any subject or situation but your finished drawing must utilize both sides of the sheet of drawing paper; for the third drawing, begin with a sheet of paper, alter the form of this paper in any way you wish and then make a drawing of this altered form." I understand the first two, but for the last what on earth are they saying...? Am I supposed to alter a piece of paper and then draw that altered paper ON that sheet? Or just alter a piece of paper and then draw it on a separate sheet? If anyone could shed some light on this or even provide some [preferably successful] examples I would greatly appreciate it!!
What is a great drawing exercise? I want to pick up drawing, and I'm okay but I need practice. I find it difficult to sit down and look at a blank sheet of paper. Should I just draw circles, cones and cubes over and over again or something?
How do I mount a sheet of paper? My art assignment calls for me to do a specified drawing on a piece of paper and then mount it. What does that mean? How do I do it? What do I need to do it?
Can we transfer a picture using tracing paper? I know that we can use tracing paper to get a black-and-white (almost) copy of a picture or drawing, but can we then use the tracing paper to transfer it to another sheet of paper? But wouldn't drawing over the opposite side blot out the lines?
Any ideas on what I should draw today? So I am home sick today...ugh. And I have a clean sheet of drawing paper, freshly sharpened pencils, charcoal and absolutely no idea what to do with it all! I want to draw something...out of the ordinary, but not impossible. For example: my friend drew a hand and attached to each finger was a string that was tied to a simple puppet type thing. It was epic and simple. Any ideas? Thanks so much!
How can I calm myself down? I just can't seem to take things easy... I started taking up art because I like the idea of creating my own figures and am excited at the thought of making them beautiful like all those other artists draw them. But every time I pick up a pencil and hunch over a sheet of drawing paper I start to get nervous... Every time I draw, I'm always erasing my lines. I spend several minutes drawing the same line over and over and over again. My artist friends keep telling me that I'm being too hard on myself, that I shouldn't expect things to look perfect at my level, that I can't expect to improve overnight, yada yada. Nothing they tell me helps, their advice just doesn't sink into my subconscious and I continue to fret and fuss over my drawings to the point where I yell at myself and break pencils. How can I train my mind to just accept making mistakes? I've always been trained to make things perfect so that obviously doesn't help me. What can I do to calm myself down? I've already tried listening to music, drinking chamomile tea, watching funny cartoons and playing video games in an attempt to wash away my stresses, but I still turn red soon after I start drawing. Do I have serious issues or something? Soadzombi: But that's just the thing, it's more frustrating rather than fun. I'd really like to someday be able to be in the same crowd as my artist friends, but seeing how I can't get myself out of a negative attitude toward learning something new, I feel it'll never happen...
Scale model of the Solar System on an A3 sheet of paper? Can someone please provide an appropriate scale for measuring and drawing the diameters of the planets (excluding Pluto). The largest is 1,392,000km and smallest is 4,878km. I need a scale that fits on an A3 sheet paper, without making the sun too big or Mercury too small. Remember, its diameter only, I've got their distances from the sun covered. Thanks
How can i print out blank paper? I have about 15 sheets of construction paper with prep questions and tests on them. My brother drew on all of them and now i cant see? i have to get this done by this weekend. if i put them on my copying machine, its just gonna come out the same with all the drawing on it. how can i make it clean and nice without drawing on it? you know what i mean?
For this question you will need to plot the following data on a graph. Simply use a blank sheet of paper, draw For this question you will need to plot the following data on a graph. Simply use a blank sheet of paper, draw an x- and a y-axis, label the x-axis as "sarcomere length" increasing from the origin to the right, and the y-axis as "tension" increasing from the origin up. The units for this graph are arbitrary and for simplicity can be from 0 to 5 units on both axes. Please begin by plotting the following points on your graph: point A at (1,0); point B at (2,1); point C at (3,2); point D at (4,3); point E at (5,0). For those of you rusty in mathematics, the first coordinate in the series is the position left to right (x) and the second number is the position up or down (y). For example, your first point, A, lies on the x-axis (since y=0) and just over 1 unit (since x=1). Your newly drawn graph depicts the sarcomere length-tension relationship in the average skeletal muscle. Now answer the following questions: Why is it that the sarcomere exerts maximum tension at point D on your graph? Why is it that the sarcomere exerts no tension at point A? Why no tension at E?
Finding/Ordering Oversized Printmaking/Drawing papers? I've been working on some rather large wood blocks and ink paintings and I'm trying to find places that I can order extremely large pieces of paper to print, paint, draw on. I was thinking of the quality along the reeves bfk, arches, etc type of weight and thickness. So if anyone know of somewhere I could order papers like that around 4 ft x 8 ft sheets let me know.
how do i print one image to 4 sheets of paper? My mother does quilting, all by hand and draws her pics to the fabric before stitching, and I wanted to know if there is printing software that will allow me to make an image take up 4 sheets of paper, so when she lays the paper on the floor and puts each corner together she gets one big picture. She's done it before years ago on my dads old computer, but she cant remember the name of the program she used. Any help would be great. Thank you for your response, I have a HP printer its the 1210V all-in-one, I'll look around HP's website and see if they have something. Thanks again
where can I buy b4 size paper? does anyone know where I can buy *inexpensive* b4 size paper? I saw that people were recommending akadot.com and such sites. those sites have b4 paper specifically for drawing comics, and the packs are somewhat expensive (about 7.00 for 40 sheets of paper, plus shipping costs). so I was wondering where I could buy it less expensively. I tried the website of office depot japan, too (they sold larger packs for less) but they don't ship outside of japan. thank you in advance!
Find the inscribed circle? For a given triangle ABC find the inscribed circle (by construction, with compass and unmarked ruler), but there is a problem: A, B and C are out of the drawing paper sheet, so you have to use only the parts of the 3 sides. This is a follow-up question, inspired by a resent Dragan's question: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ap1nzhb9N5KzdIGjCeAXhDTsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090330043133AAfTsZa&show=7#profile-info-9VvlPShsaa Construction of the bisector of <A: Draw two parallel lines to the sides AB and AC, each at the same distance from AB and AC. Let they intersect inside the given triangle at the point A'. The bisector of <A'=<A is a bisector of <A, too.
Another math puzzle: Find the middle point of the line segment!? Let a and b be converging straight lines, intersecting in the point S, which is out of the drawing paper sheet. Let P be a point between the two lines. Find the middle point of the line segment PS, using only a compass, an unmarked ruler and one sheet of drawing paper! I know the solution. So don't waste time explaining in details the particular elementary constructions! I have found it much easier than my previous question http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArAg43eNnoBmhwBFOVeev4zsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090326074328AA9rJG1 @ Dragan K: Near as fast as light (ili brže?). Thanks. It works, although it is different from the solution given in my book. Here's the answer from my book: Draw a line parallel to the line a through the point P. Let it intersect a at the point A. Draw a line parallel to the line b through the point P. Let it intersect b at the point B. The middle point of PS is at the middle point of the line segment AB. The above is obviously wrong. It have to be: Draw a line parallel to the line a through the point P. Let it intersect b at the point B. Draw a line parallel to the line b through the point P. Let it intersect a at the point A. The middle point of PS is at the middle point of the line segment AB.
Math puzzle: Construct a straight line!? Let a and b be converging straight lines, intersecting in the point S, which is out of the drawing paper sheet. Let P be a point between the two lines. Construct the straight line defined by the points P and S, using only a compass, an unmarked ruller and one sheet of drawing paper! I've found it in a book, in the part for preparing fifthgrades for Math competitions. Edited in East Europe. The solution in my book is very elegant. Sorry, the problem was intended to sixth grade pupils (supposed to be 12-13 yo at the time the book was printed - 1998). Really. @ Track P: If Mom=Clever one, then Son=Clever guy @ Track P: Yes, the construction could be made by using only a pencil and a straightedge. But it is just because the solution itself consists of 3 successive elementary constructions of right angles. BTW, I think it's better to reverse partly the order of the steps of your solution. Thanks for the nice Wiki's link. Here's the solution given in my book: Draw a line perpendicular to the line a through the point P. Let it intersect a at the point A. Draw a line perpendicular to the line b through the point P. Let it intersect b at the point B. The point P is an orthocenter of the triangle ABS, so the perpendicular to AB through P passes through S.
Drawing pencil that doesnt causes smearing or less smearing? I love drawing and I have an art class that involves lots of pencil drawings. and every time i draw parts of my drawing is smeared. Is there a type of pencil that would smear less or smear at all? I know I can use a sheet of paper under my hand or start from a corner the outward but i was wondering if theres a pencil that could help.
Help with my drawing? Ok, so, as of now, I have a pile of peiced-togehter photographs of 1/2 of a window drawn on the left side, and 2 eyes on a diagonal , pretty much in line with the corner of the window, in an upwards direction. There is space left on my paper in the bottom right corner, and the top left one. Everything I draw is on torn sheets of paper, so I was thinking about having a quote or something on the bottom, and maybe a picture of a leaf in the top.... and I need something, like rope, or ink spots, or something to put in the background to tie it all together. What do you think? Do you think that w/ your help, i could make it into the school art and poetry publication, providing it is drawn well?
In a fine-art class, the students were asked to draw anything on their drawing sheet.? In a fine-art classroom, the teacher asked the Students to draw anything on their drawing sheets. When the Teather was inspecting their work he discovered that a student named Joe did not draw anything. Here is their conversation Teacher "Joe your mates are drawing but you are not why?" Joe"Sir, but i drew something" Teacher "What did you draw i can only see a blank space?" Joe "I drew a cock and grains" Teacher "Where is the grains in your drawing sheet now?" Joe "The cock have ate all the grains" Teacheer "Then where is the cock on the paper now?" Joe "Sir, the cock left immediately it finished eating all the grains that is why my drawing paper is blank" In a fine-art class, the student were asked to draw anything on their drawing sheet. One of the student named Joe refused to draw something on his own drawing sheet. When the teacher was inspection their work, he discovered that Joe drawing-paper was sheet blank. Telepathy test: which number did I write on my sheet of paper? I wrote a (big) two-digit number on a sheet of paper next to my computer and I drew a circle around it. I ask you to guess this number using telepathy (and your memory). Your answer should be a two-digit number (namely one of the numbers 10, 11,12,...,97,98 or 99) plus any comment you may want to add.
How do you get creases out of a sheet of paper? I accidentally folded a piece of artwork, drawn in pencil. Is there a way for me to get the folds out enough so that it looks presentable? I thought perhaps I could iron it, but would that damage the art in any way?
Can someone tell me how I am supposed to do this? On a separate sheet of paper, draw a model of a 4 inch ruler marked off in eights.Find and label each measurement on your ruler. These are the numbers. 3 and five eights 2 and six eights 3 and one half 1 and three fourths 2 and 1 half 3 and 1 fourths.
My chinchilla ate a sheet of paper, is this ok? I woke up this morning to see a small scrap of paper in my chinchillas cage, with pencil marks on it. I know that it had been a full 8x11 piece of white printer paper that I had drawn on with pencil. We are moving so things are messy and I guess she pulled it into the cage! She looked very guilty :) Will she be ok? there are no shreds around so I assume she ate it all!
I have a sheet of paper and a pencil? i cant think of what to do. if you had a sheet of paper just one and a pencil with almost all the lead gone what would you write about,or what would you draw?
Suggestions for how to mail art piece/ packaging? I want to mail a piece of art I drew (flat sheet of paper, normal printer size, no frame, colored pencil) If I want to prevent the piece from being bent or ruined when being mailed, what type of packaging is suggested? (ex: in a package with a hard board or rolled up in a tube, etc...) How do people usually mail their art pieces? thanks.
Looking for a print/painting possibly abstract art - Lizards on a desk or drawing table? I am looking for a painting. Black and white, lizards/geckos on a drawing table or desk. Some look like they're part of the desk, some are walking around and where they're walking from had a white spot of their shape. I know there was a big white sheet of paper, with geckos/lizards on it who were grey. And possibly black ink spilt. Does anyone know what it's called?
How can I make a tower out of a piece of paper? In art class, we have to use a single sheet of 9" by 12" drawing paper and glue to make a tower. It has to be 6' for an A, but I will pretty much be ridiculed by my friends if I don't go for a record so it needs to be around 13' 5" The previous record holder supposedly used 1/4in wide strips of paper folded into a V, but I don't think there would be enough paper to beat him. (and he doesn't remember completely so who knows what he really used...) Would it be too unstable to use any less than 1/4in? And are there any other techniques besides just a tripod and a thin piece of a paper on top? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What shall i draw? I have an A4 sheet of paper a pencil, and a packet of felt tip pens? I have an A4 sheet of paper, a rubber, a pencil, and a packet of felt tip pens, what shall i draw? the colours i have are: Yellow Orange Light Green Dark Green Light Blue Dark Blue Red Black Brown Grey Purple Pink I will try to draw everything you say Great selectioni there, I drew The Witch and frog, the reflections, the dinosaur, the cartoon character, the man who said draw me, the black and white crying girl, the flower, the pack of felt tips, the eye and some other stuff. Can anyone help me to understand this assignment??? My question is I don't understand where all the lines come in. Also if you can give me a website Id appreciate it. This is an example of the work http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/7918/aicc113w4a31wl0.jpg On a single sheet of paper, draw a series of subjects in two-point perspective, which are each illuminated by a single light source. You may use a single light source for all four subjects or use a light source for each subject. Be sure to draw the shadows they cast correctly. Draw the horizon line, vanishing point, guidelines, and light source in gray. Consider the arrangement of the subjects on the page (composition). Then, go over the object edges and shadows in black. Leave all of the guidelines in the drawing. Attach your work and submit to the discussion thread for the class to critique. Oh my gosh , all your answers where wonderful, thank you so much.
Where can I find the cheapest printer paper? (8.5 X 11)? I am looking for the cheapest paper (per sheet) I can find...I need to buy a lot of it, not only to print on, but I have a kid that draws and uses a LOT of paper and those little crayola tablets are getting mighty pricey as fast as she goes through them...I am wanting to buy maybe $20 worth of paper and want to get as much of it for that price as possible
is there a program that overlays "tracing paper" over the desktop, above any other window, to draw over it? i have a drawing tablet and often any ideas i get of things to draw fizzle before i can get to a sketchpad, and alt+tabbing between windows to check poses or structure for drawings is tedious and doesn't always end up proportioned well on my end. i was wondering if there's a program that lays a "sheet" of "tracing paper" you can draw on over whatever is currently on the desktop, with the ability to save (at least) what you draw on the paper. any information on a program that does something like that would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
The relationship between a person's random drawings and her natural abilities? For example, if one looks at the shapes or objects that are more common in a person's random drawings (like while talking on the phone, or doing something that does not require a lot of focus), what does that say about her natural talents or psychological traits? I've seen people who like to draw houses, others that draw animals, or suns on the corners of paper sheets. And others that just fill a sheet of paper with arrows in several directions. Do you know a good reference about how that relates to their talents? To Lindsey: But why does one's mind choose to draw the same objects when doodling? Perhaps that's where we can find any correlation between the drawings and one's inner-self.
Can someone explain this dream that I had right before I woke up? The dream was about me and this girl that I use to have a class with during college. We was in a classroom and she was teaching or showing me how to draw. We had many sheets of whit paper and she kept showing and telling me how to draw. She would not let me leave until I got it right. After some attempts, I finally started drawing and after that, the dream was over. Can someone tell me the meaning of this dream.
