different or new drawing exercises and fun things to do? i like sketching and drawing (as well as painting ect) but i was trying to think of some new things to do just to change it up a little.. like a collage, drawing with different colored pens, drawing on a different surface like sheet music or an old recipe card, maybe focussing on sketching one thing like eyes or hands.. just different ideas like that that wont be serious art work, just something different to do that is still art. Exercises to increase drawing ability? My art teacher introduced us to blind contour drawings awhile ago, and I've been doing them ever since to increase my drawing skills...the way I look at things. I find it fun and relaxing. But, I'd like some different exercises I can try. Ones that are unique like blind contour drawing. Any other exercises I can try?
Drawing speed and accuracy exercises for animators? I'm really starting to get into hand drawn animation after being heavily involved in CG, but find myself sketching either slower than I should be or producing not so up to par images per page (at least to my standard, which is pretty high). What do most animators do to really boost up the level of rendering and speed in their work?
Online drawing exercises? Does anybody know of any websites online that can help teach how to draw? All levels and types, anything that gives you useful exercises. Any websites that are very useful for drawing in general are also great. Thanks.
What Are Some Good Drawing Exercises? Well I have been drawing for awhile now and want to improve my skills. I am pretty good, when I started out I copied other artist's works and now I do some originals but I need to know some good exercises to improve. I don't have the inspiration to draw for some reason, some friends say it's just some time of the year or something. I want to improve and in the future make my own mangas ( yeah some people don't like manga and think it's not art but I like it). What should I practice each day?? I don't have much time to draw cuz of school and stuff but I have a little, I already draw cubes and stuff pretty well, I draw them all the time in class ( my teachers teach ssssllloooowww). I need to improve on human anatomy and stuff but I don't have enough money for books and stuff, are there any good websites?? I also wanna improve on marker work and stuff. I mean on school projects where you draw I usually do stick figures, that's how bad it is XD please help, thanks!!
Any good Life Drawing Class exercises??? I am teaching a life drawing class night class, its a 2 hour class, they are a mixed group of beginners and intermediate. You have any suggestions on fun exercises to do with them. I was thinking of exercises not just timing of the pose. We always start with quick poses, and because of class time we usually do 2 shorter poses or one long pose, Any ideas on techniques or ways of seeing? I been teaching for 7 years so I am looking for new and exciting ideas, any suggestions
Where can I find instructions and exercises in drawing advanced syntax trees (linguistics)? Hi answerers, I have an upper level syntax midterm coming up on Tuesday and I'm just not confident enough in my ability to distinguish specifiers, adjuncts, and complements as well as drawing the trees for them as dictated by Chomsky's X-Bar theory. We're using the Andrew Carnie textbook 'Syntax - A Generative Introduction' which is a great text, but doesn't have -any- answers to the exercises so I'm not certain I'm drawing the trees correctly. Examples in the book are minimal as the topics advance. I'm looking for some resources that have step-by-step tree drawing for large trees (including functional projections like TP, CP, and so on) and also looking for some question and answer sets. Crossing my fingers!
What is a great drawing exercise? I want to pick up drawing, and I'm okay but I need practice. I find it difficult to sit down and look at a blank sheet of paper. Should I just draw circles, cones and cubes over and over again or something?
can you recommend me some of the best drawing books? i need a book that has a lot of drawing exercises....kindly give me the name of the book and the author.. and please if you have time kindly give the website where i can buy it online.. tnx in advance for your help! =) happy new year!!
I just did the upside down drawing exercise. Is what happened to me normal? I got that Drawing From the Right Side of the Brain book and I just did that upside down drawing exercise. When I did the drawing upside down, it come out ok but some of the lines were still in the wrong spot. I thought I would try to draw it rightside up and I think it actually looks better. I don't know if it's because my right brain is still active or something. The drawing is very liney so it's pretty easy to copy. The reason why some of the lines in the upside down one don't fit is because I was getting frustrated because I didn't know what I was drawing. I've only tried the upside down one once so it could just be a case of not practicing. But anyways, the rightside up one looks better, and the upside down one looks sort of ok. Is it just that my visual side became active during the exercise, or is it just a case of one thing that works for someone else just doesn't work for me?
I would like to get better at drawing? What are some exercises? Ok so I love the idea of drawing!! Its so artistic and wonderful! I have always loved to look at it! And now I want to learn how to draw? So if you could are try to make me a guide or tips it would be soooooo appreciated!! And if you a great drawer by practice would you mind sort of being my tutor??? PLEASE!!!! Thankyou! Ummmm. . .drawing isn't a trend. . .I don't want to be "cool" I just want to improve my skills. . .Relax. . .
Blind contour drawing has helped me alot, are there are any other good "brain-training" exercises like this? I'm looking for quick raw exercises that I can do a few minutes at a time whenever and wherever I have a free minute, I do blind contour drawing more than anything else and looking to stretch my brain in other (similar) ways. I don't have a problem with the "boring stuff" as long as it helps my fundamental skills, I actually prefer doing exercises vs. actual "drawings" when I have the free time (a good analogy would be practicing music scales vs. playing songs).
What are some exercises to properly hold a pencil? For most of my life, I have been holding a pencil the wrong way. I'd like to be able to hold it the proper, 'natural' way. Are there any exercises for training my hand to hold a pen/pencil properly? My current grip inhibits me from a variety of things, such as good handwriting or drawing ability. Thanks. There's a stereotypical way to hold a pencil between the thumb and forefinger which supposedly leads to better handwriting/accuracy.
What exercises can I do at work? I work at the front desk of a hotel & I have to stand the whole time. Does anyone have any good exercises that I can do without drawing too much attention to my self?
How to control your hand when drawing lines and become less shaky hand? I have a problem when i draw, my hand becomes shaky especially if i cannot exercise my hand. In the middle of drawing, my hands becomes shaky when drawing curve lines, straight lines. I wonder if the way i hold and grip the pen/pencil could affect when drawing lines but i've tried it and it is still shaky. Is there something to do with my nerve?or i just need to do more practice?.i will appreciate any help..thanks.. please help me or give me some advices and suggestions what to do. thank you, rob
I feel like the right side of my body is "drawing up". What could cause this? What can I do about it? I have spasms in my upper back that I think may be causing a tightening of muscles up into my neck in the front and back on that side. I also have tight muscles in my hip on the right side. I began having foot pain on that same side about 2 years ago, and the podiatrist recommended stretching exercises. I stretch, and sometimes that makes it feel better, but many mornings I wake up feeling tight and "drawn up" on the right side. I think I sleep on this side mostly. What can I do other than a medication to help this problem? What is causing it? Thank you!
Can you recommend some good exercises I could whilst watching my son play rugby? It's 2 hours on the sideline and I want to utilize my time (without drawing too much attention to myself!). Also, does anyone else ever do this? Thanks Bandit - why would you think this is nuts?, 2 plus hours of just sitting and shifting about is a waste of precious Mummy time. I enjoy watching him throughout and would just like to keep fit at the same time. Tom H - thanks for your kind comment! Michael H - Interesting idea, but they already have a great group of coaches all professionals.
Will the book "The Natural Way to Draw" help me improve my drawing if I don't have the models? Ok, so this book "The Natural Way to Draw" by Kimon Nicolaides has a lot of reviews on it, but I looked at it at the library and the author wants the artist to use real life models for drawing exercises in his book. I opted to not get the book for that reason because I don't have models to draw from; furthermore, should I still get the book? And can it help me even if I don't have life models to draw from? Also, I already used "Drawing from the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards, I thought it was great, but I want to learn how to expand my skills.

Much appreciated!
How do I become passionate about something? My life feels dull. Nothing really excites me. I have friends who love to draw, exercise, make things or generally do things. I don't. Even things I like I get annoyed with after a few days. Nothing I start I finish. I have even realized that there is nothing that makes me excited to get out of bed in the morning. It drives me crazy? How do you find your passion in life?
Help, I have lost my drawing skills? I used to be able to draw reasonably well. Then I went to university for three years and studied a computer based course, never having time to draw. When I sit down to draw now it is really difficult and I find everything I attempt just doesn't look right. My style used to be very loose and expressive and now it looks jolty, unconfident and awkward. Can anyone recommend any exercises or tips to get it back. Its upsetting me that I seem to have lost the skill.
What book has pages with fun, creative writing and other exercises? Around Christmas I saw this book at Barnes and Noble. It has a black cover. Inside, you are supposed to do things, like spill something on one page, tear out another page and make a paper airplane, draw a self-portrait on another. I cannot find the book online and have no idea what the title is. Any help would be great!

Projective Drawing in Children Question? What is the generally accepted interpretation of a child drawing a person from the back view - as opposed to a face or profile view - when completing a draw-a-person exercise?

Exercises for draw reins? I am working my TB in draw reins once a week to help position him at the poll and stretch into long and low. We work a lot of circles, serpentines and some low-level lateral work, but I am kind of stuck for ideas to keep his mind busy. Any pattern/exercise ideas? Also, not to be defensive, but I am an experienced rider with light hands and am well aware of the dangers draw reins can pose. I am very careful to work him from back to front and keep him a few degrees in front of the vertical at all times, and use a snaffle rein as well. **ETA I am using draw reins because I a.) have a very good trainer who has reccommended them to me b.) know how to use them correctly, and c.) they help me help my horse stretch down into contact. It is ridiculous to throw out a tool because people misuse them. Draw reins, like anything else, are only as dangerous as the hands holding them. Have you ever read "Lessons in Lightness" by Mark Russel ? That is the method I go by. I do not rely on them to keep him flexed- I use them to help him find the release. http://www.naturaldressage.com/?cat=6

How long should you practise blind contour drawing? ? Whether it's on one drawing or a series of quick drawings, is blind contour drawing an exercise intend to be as a warm up - something you spend only about 15 mins on? Or, like me, if you are trying to improve hand eye connection, is it a good thing to do at least an hour of blind contour practise? I can draw well with contour drawing at medium pace. But I am an architecture student and I want to be able to sketch what I see v. quickly (on an A5 in about 5 - 15 minutes of a scene, or interior,or facade detail etc) without my hand losing control.

I need help with drawing? I'm just starting to draw, and I'd like to know the very basics to drawing. I'd like to know some helpful exercises to begin with as well. I unfortunately tried drawing without learning the basics, and quite frankly, I've found myself in ruts because I didn't know how to draw a good circle, or how to really hold the pencil correctly. Any help would be helpful, thanks :) Haha, thankfully I'm patient, I've taken guitar lessons, and you have to practice a whollle lot with that.

What are some good exercises for someone who wants to learn how to draw? I write fantasy/sci-fi frequently, but I've always been fascinated with they way characters, objects, and places can be illustrated instead of written. I have a ton of visual ideas in my head, but my attempts on putting them into a sketchpad have been pretty bad. Through my childhood I never really draw much of anything unless I was asked to, let alone scribbled. I took a short shot at learning how, but I could never get the grasp of even the basics, mostly attributed to a learning disability I have, it simply takes me much longer than normal to understand and learn certain things. Are there any known or recommended exercises for a complete and absolute beginner to learn the basics of drawing?
Improving drawing...? I have trouble drawing symmetric things is there an exercise that helps with this? Any tips other than just practicing? thanks for help guys. I wasn't say i dislike practicing or anything just wondering if there was a more efficient way to improve that certain area.

How to stop bra stuffing over the summer? My friend recently confided in me that she stuffs her bra, and now that summer's coming, she REALLY wants to stop. We're going into high school in September and she doesn't want to have to keep doing what she's doing now. Normally, she's about and A but she stuffs to about a B. Obviously, she can't stop altogether or people will notice something, so how can she gradually stop without drawing attention? Are there any foods or exercises that will help enhance her breast size? She's desperate for help, she really wants to stop.
What is a good book to learn how to draw? I have taken some drawing classes in college and high school, but I still feel as though I have much room for improvement. I am looking for a book in which to guide me and show different exercises to try--whether it is a regular book or text book.
what causes 'drawing' in my hands after numbness?? I was checked a few yrs ago for heart. I have mitral valve prolapse (leaky valve), which is no big deal. I have been put on Toporol in the past cpl months for rapid heart beat and palpatations. I work out daily, not overweight, in pretty good shape. I'm 33 and in good health. At times when I am on the elliptical, my heart rate spikes over 200. I have to stopped exercising until my heart slows down. About a month ago, I started having numbness in my hands. When I lay my arms down on a table or something, my fingers 'draw' into a spasm. My hands look like I have cerebal palsy!! They return to normal when I lift my arms. I was put on a water pill about a year ago for severe retention. These are the only meds I take. Anyone have any idea what causes these spasms??
Is a tornado likely to have sucked up a dinosaur at any point? At school, we all loved drawing pictures in the back of our exercise books of T Rex's and Plesiosaur' being ripped from the surface of prehistoric earth by an almighty twister and being spun around violently in mid-air until they were really rather giddy. Would this have been likely to have actually happened at any point in earths history? Seriously. I need to know.
When you have a set what do you do in these kind of flops? Lets say you have pocket tens and you are utg up against the button in a 6 handed game. Its 1/2 and the effective stacks are 300. The button is quite loose and agressive but he knows when to stop. First flop: 10s,9c, 8d. The pot is 12. Do u bet out or do you wait for the turn to bet if theres a blank so that you have a much bigger edge if up against a draw and to exercise some pot control? Next flop 2s, 10s, As. This time do you bet out or do you wait for the turn again? Does the ace change things? How about if the flop is 9s10s8c? Btw.. lets say your oppenent has a oesfd. You are a 60/40 favorite and if you go allin you will lose alot of the time, but on the turn you are a 70/30 favorite. Sorry about this long question, but i dont wanna post three different questions that are pretty similiar. James R.. so sorry i forgot to tell you i raised it to 7 preflop. Anyways lets talk about that feeler bet you reccomend. I can not disagree anymore. On these kind of flops you wanna do 2 things. Price out draws or keep the pot small in case villian has a made hand. Your "probing bet" didnt do either. Im open to some discussion if you ever read this btw :) Ummm gjamison you dont have even close to the nuts and you are incredibly vunerable. Why would you want to slowplay? my momma mia sorry i meant that you raised it to 6 preflop (sorry james r again) but i forgot to include the blinds so it should be 15. Anyways what happens if you bet on the flop get called bet on the turn and get raised. What would you do? Would you push like you had the nuts or fold? (Any flop)
How to build self confidence and self esteem? I know of a few writting exercises for example: piece of paper.Draw a life down the middle. One side you write the things you say yourself that are negative. Like, I have a crooked chin for example. Then on the other side of the paper, you write something positive. In the end, the column with positive self talk will always be greater. Any other exercises you know or can share to boost self confidence and self esteem??
Where do you draw the line on body modifications? What kind of body modifications are ethically acceptable, and which are not? If having surgery performed on a child born with a cleft palate is acceptable to improve his appearance, is it also acceptable to have a circumcision performed for purely aesthetic (not religious) reasons? Is it ok to have a nose job if your nose has been broken and it's impairing your ability to breathe? How about a nose job for a 16 year old who thinks her nose is too big? And what about liposuction? Is liposuction an intelligent option for the severely overweight? How about for someone who exercises and watches their diet but can't get rid of those love handles or thunder thighs? Is it going too far to have a breast lift after carrying and breastfeeding three children? Is it going too far to have a breast augmentation to look hotter? How about getting DDD's to make money as a stripper? Are botox injections advisable for an actress? How about for a soccer Mom? Where would you draw the line, and why?

Do you know of a website that shows how to do an exercise? I am trying to design a workout program for my sister. She is in another country and has little fitness knowledge. Trying to describe how to perform various exercises has proven a tedious task online or over the phone! I remember seeing a web page that would actually show a drawing of a person going through a movement and would highlight the muscles it was working. I searched google to no avail. Does anyone know of a website that shows someone actually going through the movements? Thanks in advance!
Can you help me commit fraud? Okay, so I don't really want to commit fraud. I am drawing up an exercise on fraud but am not a fraud expert. How would processing transactions to the incorrect period help someone commit fraud? Would these transactions usually be invoices, credit notes or something else?
